8U consists of 7th and 8th graders "Player Development"
Fundamentals will remain at the core of instruction. Focus will be on quicker sticks, quicker feet, and overall quicker play.
Here players are moving into faster skill sets and a higher pace of team play. Players will be learning more advanced team concepts. How to work as a unit, and how involve your teammates in the game. Coaches will speak to intermediate strategy and play-making.
Conditioning, increasing lacrosse IQ, and sharpening skills to prepare players for the high school level.
6U consists of 5th and 6th graders "Pick it up"
Here is where we get moving. Building on the fundamentals learned, the skills are scaled up for the next level of play. Full field games, full sided teams, more refined stick skills, and overall quicker game play.
Fundamentals are still emphasized, now at a faster pace. Game strategy and plays/play-making is introduced. We work on specialized positions more while continuing to allow kids to try new areas on the field. More development of lacrosse IQ.
Off-ball movement, working in space, and basic intro to design plays. More ball handling, less ground balls.
4U consists of 3rd and 4th graders "Teamwork"
Fun and Fundamentals continue to be at the forefront of our goals. We want to keep kids engaged and excited about lacrosse. With many kids still entering the sport at this level, basic techniques will remain a major focus. Continuing with small sided teams and shorter fields, more team play concepts are introduced. We also start to develop lacrosse IQ.
Creating and moving in space, and ball transition are explained and practiced. Individual positions are introduced. Attack, Midfield, and Defensive positions are practiced.
We rotate kids through each and see where they gravitate and show skill. Face offs and Goalkeeping also begins here.
2U consists of 1st and 2nd graders "Sticks In Hands"
At this level of play our focus is on FUN and FUNdamentals. Teaching the basic techniques of lacrosse. Scooping ground balls, cradling, throwing, catching, and shooting as well as basic rules of the game.
Small sided teams and short field games provide for more 1 on 1 instruction and more time engaged in the game. We want every child to have fun learning, and create an environment where they will be excited to play!
