| Will Ottens | 8U Assistant Coach[email protected]
Coach Ottens has a diverse lacrosse background! Starting as an Attack player in eighth grade gave him a strong offensive foundation, and his switch to D-Pole (defense) in high school developed a focus on the defensive side of the game. His background in both positions gives him a well-rounded perspective on the sport, which is valuable for coaching.
He believes lacrosse is a sport that promotes teamwork, challenges endurance and precision, and fine-tunes the mind due to the fast-paced nature of the game and quick reactions necessary to run plays. It is an excellent opportunity for children to develop strong friendships as teammates and engage in a uniquely challenging and fun sport. The history of Lacrosse also provides a crucial lesson on peacefully settling conflicts between groups of people, as was done in the ancient Native American tradition of Stickball from which Lacrosse is derived. |
