Getting your player geared up doesn't have to be overwhelming. This guide walks you through everything your player needs, where to find it, and how to save money along the way.
Your player's helmet must be specifically designed for lacrosse and carry both the NOCSAE certification and SEI certification mark on the helmet itself. The chinstrap must be worn securely on the chin at all times.
Recommended: Cascade CS/R or Cascade XRS (widely available, excellent fit for youth players)
Effective January 1, 2022, shoulder pads for boys' field players must be designed for lacrosse and meet NOCSAE standard ND200. All shoulder pads must contain the NOCSAE logo and SEI certification mark on both the packaging and the product to be legal for play. Shoulder pads must cover the top of the shoulder, collarbone, and sternum.
Recommended: Warrior Burn, Maverik Rome, or STX Cell (all NOCSAE ND200 compliant)
Arm pads protect the forearms and elbows. Elbows should be completely covered. A snug fit that allows full range of motion is ideal.
Recommended: Any lacrosse-specific arm pad from major brands (STX, Warrior, Maverik)
Must be lacrosse-specific gloves. Hands must be fully inserted into gloves. Baseball, football, or other sport gloves are not acceptable.
Recommended: Warrior Evo, STX Stallion, or Maverik Rome
Must be a visible color. Clear and white mouthguards are not permitted. The mouthguard must be attached to the helmet and worn at all times during practice and games. Pro tip: buy a few extras. They have a way of disappearing on game day!
Lacrosse, football, or soccer cleats are all acceptable. All equipment must be original and unaltered from the manufacturer's design. Metal cleats/spikes are not permitted.
Required for all boy players. Typically worn with an athletic supporter or compression shorts with a cup pocket.
